JUNE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS - are coming up fast so don't forget to book for a few days to enjoy a family fun filled break. WHATS UP DOWN UNDER We recently had Frankie J Holden and Michelle Pettigrove and Georgia here filming an episode of Whats Up Down Under. Look for it at 4.30 pm Saturday 27th May on Channel 7. It was great fun. ANZAC DAY AND MAY DAY LONG WEEKENDS We had some rain over the Anzac Day and May Day long weekends but everyone had a ball and the fish were on the bite and the crabs were just begging to be caught. The dawn service at Kurrimine was well attended, as was the traditional 10am march. The Feast of the Three Saints was a big one this year - 60 years now and it has never yet rained during the procession. If you missed it there is always next year but you need to book early as accommodation fills up fast from year to year. EASTER 2010 Although it rained on Easter Sunday everyone had a ball over the Easter break. The games room and TV room were well used by the kids. Big and little kids alike used the pool toys for hours at a time.

 The park has had some exciting visitors recently. We were privileged to host lunch for some Marysville survivors who recently visited the area. The entire trip for 50 people was sponsored by businesses in Mission Beach and surrounds. Tom Mauloni, a famous local bush poet from Aussie Farm Entertainment at Mena Creek, was kind enough to entertain the visitors with some peotry and also his collie dogs herding ducks through obstacles. It was a great time, enjoyed by all.
The Variety Club bash stayed with us for a couple of days and enjoyed one of our famous FREE sausage sizzles and karaoke nights. Their cars were a big hit with everyone. They even had a fire truck. The recent Babinda Harvest Festival was also a great event, with the park wining the best umbrella prize. Next year promises to be even better. We recently had a stand at the Cairns Show and met lots of lovely locals. We gave away a FREE weekend and the winner was a family from White Rock. They were very excited to win the weekend and we look forward to their upcoming visit.   |
